IBPS PO Exam is held in three phases:

  • Preliminary
  • Mains
  • Interview
  • A) Exam Pattern of IBPS PO Preliminary Phase

    IBPS PO Preliminary Exam Pattern comprises of 100 questions spread in 3 sections. Total time allowed for the exam is one hour.  It is a qualifying phase to appear in Mains. IBPS PO Preliminary exam has the following exam pattern:

    B) Exam Pattern of IBPS PO Mains

    IBPS PO Mains exam consists of 155 questions and time allotted is 180 minutes. Mains exam pattern of IBPS PO is given below:

    C) IBPS PO Interview:

    Interview holds 100 marks which one need to qualify with a minimum score up to 40 percent for general and 35 percent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. The ratio between CWE or Mains exam and Interview will be 75:25 respectively for the final merit list.

    Descriptive Test:

    It is a subjective test to examine the language proficiency of the candidates. It will be of 25 marks for 30 minutes duration where a candidate will be given an exercise on letter writing and Essay.

    Note –

    • Kindly make a special note that marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination will be considered to short-list him or her for the third phase i.e Interview and finally for the qualifying merit list.
    • IBPS will follow negative marking for every wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main Examination. Each mistake will be penalized with .25 marks.

    IBPS PO Eligibility

    Minimum qualification of a candidate for IBPS PO Exam is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized under Central Government. He or she should have English as one of the subjects at SSC/HSC/intermediate or Graduation level. Candidate must have obtained a certificate as a proof of his or her qualification.

    Minimum Age for IBPS PO

    Minimum age to apply for IBPS PO Exam is 20 years and Maximum is 30 years. This may vary which will be specifically mentioned in the official notification of IBPS PO Exam.
